Default Position welcomes Stelios Vassiloudis onto its roster with his brand new EP 'One Man Down'.
Hailing from Athens, Greece, Vassiloudis has spent the past decade crafting his signature blend of emotive Techno, Electronica, and Ambient soundscapes. He has become a fixture on esteemed labels such as John Digweed's Bedrock imprint, as well as having notable releases on Ovum Recordings, Balance Music, Kontakt Records, and Anjunadeep's ambient Reflections imprint.
Vassiloudis kicks off his EP with the title track, 'One Man Down', setting the tone with its bumpy, crisp rhythm, complemented by murky, dubbed-out synth stabs and fluttering subs, all expertly woven together across its nearly seven-minute duration. Following this, 'Dear Matthew' takes us on a journey down a more stripped-back path, with a focus on intricately modulated percussion, unfolding dub echoes, and haunting pads.
Vassiloudis infuses the classic dub techno genre with his distinctive flair, showcasing his world-class audio engineering expertise and classically-trained musicianship. His standout EP offers a captivating blend of tradition and innovation that is not to be missed.
